If you have never been on a safari, and even if you have been before, when you go on a Duma African Safari you can expect the experience of a lifetime. A Duma Safari has perfected the safari so that even though you might think of this as a camping trip, it is perhaps the most wonderful camping trip you could ever imagine. However, we all have personal items that we may need to adhere to our normal schedules and favorite comforts, so Christopher has created a “packing list.”
In addition items on Christopher’s list below, you might add to this list items that you think you cannot live without. For example, we are all tied to our phones and emails. You should know that you will be provided with high speed Internet, even in such a remote area as the Maasai Mara, and yes you can actually send photos from the safari to your friends.. There will also be a place you can charge your phone or other electronic devices. So check the list below and see if you might have other things you will need to keep in touch with business contacts or friends, or other items that you can’t live without.
Christopher’s Suggested List:
- SOFT LUGGAGE IS BEST.
- Should be crushable, 33 lbs only.
- Shorts, pants w/pockets, tees, a long-sleeve shirt and a Sweatshirt. Earth tones or dark. (No White) laundry is great!
- Your clothes can be washed in camp. (Womens underwear is not done in some camps. It’s cultural)
- No Designer labels. Less is more!
- Buy a Cheap Watch / preferably with a light
- Leave your Jewelry at home, No gold
- No Military Clothes or USA Insignias
Bring:
- Handi wipes
- Lotion, sunscreen
- Chewable Pepto Bismol
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Vest w/pockets
- Small flashlight.
- Bring extra of what you can’t do without.
- Example: eyeglasses, Prescriptions
- Make a Photo Copy of your Passport & Visas.
